Traveling With a Mobility Scooter On Eurostar
Do not fear if you are traveling through Europe with a mobility scooter. Traveling with a disability through Europe is easy and comfortable with Eurostar. Eurostar allows the scooter to be carried aboard in designated storage areas on the train. This storage is at no extra cost to you. Keep in mind though that ramps and accessibility for the scooters is limited to a meter wide. So you may want to check your scooter measurements before hand to be sure it will fit.

Scooter assistance- Eurostar staff assistance will include assisting you on board and getting off the train but, they will not drive the scooter. You will be asked to drive it yourself since staff may not be familiar with your particular scooter. You should contact the Eurostar train ahead of time to check if there is adequate storage for your scooter. Not checking in advance could result in there not being enough space to transport your scooter. Furthermore, Eurostar does not allow gas-powered scooter to be carried on the trains.

Luggage assistance
- the best part is that luggage assistance is provided by customer service staff as well at no additional cost with your purchased ticket. Assistance includes the arriving, checking in and accessing the train procedures. You should be aware though that luggage assistance is given at no extra cost as long as it meets Eurostars set limits. Luggage limits are 2 medium bags and 1 small carry on. Anything extra will cost an additional fee. It is possible that you will have to pay a small fee at stations if you only require help with moving your bags. This service is available for you at certain locations and fees will be charged at each location when coming and going.

Assistance locations
- The assigned locations for available disability help include the St Pacras, Ashford, Ebbsfleet, Brussels, Gare du Nord, Lille, Calais, Marne La Vallee, Avignon, Bourg St Maurice, Moutiers and Aime La Plagne stations. Help can be requested at the check in areas. It may take a few moments to receive help if it is during a time when allot of people are traveling but rest assured, you will be helped as quickly as possible. If you need any other type of help, you can simply speak with a Eurostar staff member and they will do their best to assist you.

Things to remember-
You will need to get to the train station early in order to request luggage assistance as it is not available in advance. You can request it from a Eurostar staff member at time of arrival. Staff at your final destination will also be made aware of your special needs in advance to your arrival so that they can be prepared to help you when you get there.

Eurostar is committed to meeting your special needs and traveling with  a mobility scooter is one that they can handle. Contact a staff member and book your ticket at least 2 days prior to your intended travel date. Be sure you let them know that you will need to store your mobility scooter during travel.
