AMSTERDAM Travel By Eurostar

Amsterdam is the most beautiful and the largest city of Netherlands (Capital of Netherlands) located in the north Holland Province, which is called western part of the country. Traveling to Amsterdam by Eurostar & Thalys

If you are planning to travel to Amsterdam from London (UK), the best and cheapest way is to take Eurostar London Brussels Train from St Pancras Station in London to Brussels Midi Station in Brussels. The fare is just £69 return when booked online in advance.  From Brussels, you need to change Hi Speed Thalys Trains or NMBS (Dutch Railways service) to Amsterdam. You do not have to buy separate tickets with Eurostar and Thalys or NMBS because now you can buy the entire journey tickets from London to Amsterdam and back from Eurostar only.  You can even book your hotel in Amsterdam online on Eurostar website.

If you are in Amsterdam and you have not tried Bicycle, you have definitely missed something.  There are more than a million Bicycles in Amsterdam and you have special paths and tracks for bikers spanning over 400 kms in length. This large number of bikers also results in Bicycle thefts and there are many accidents that happen every year.  Car driving in city streets is discouraged and Govt charges heavy car parking charges in Amsterdam.  There are tramlines and night bus services as well operated by Arriva and Connexxion.  The famous A10 Motorway is called the Ring Road around Amsterdam with a length of approx 32kms, connecting A8 Motorway, A4 Motorway, A2 Motorway and A1 Motorway.

There are 10 railway stations in Amsterdam by run by Dutch Railways - five for the intercity (Five are intercity stops: Sloterdijk, Zuid Train Station, Amstel Station, Bijlmer Station  ArenA and Amsterdam Centraal (which is also called International Train Stationin Amsterdam). There are regular services to various destinations in Europe such as Austria, Belarus, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Russia and Switzerland. Other Hi Speed Trains of the likes of the Nederlandse Spoorwegen and the Thalys (which is again a hi speed service between Amsterdam to Brussels to Paris to Cologne), CityNightLine, and InterCity Express run all the way in various European countries.  There is Eurolines Coach service to most of the european countries.  The Amsterdam International Airpor (Schiphol) is approx 20 min to Amsterdam Centraal Train Station.  The airport is the biggest in Netherlands, 5th in the Europe and 12th in the world in terms of passengers.
