London Ibiza Flights

Overview:

Ibiza or Eivissa (how the island is called officially) is a bewitching place, perfect for spending a breathtaking holiday.
It is situated in the Mediterranean Sea, 79 km off the coast of Valencia, Spain. Ibiza is one of the three largest Balearic Islands and together with Formentera, one of the Pine Islands.

The history of the isle begins with the discovery made by the Carthaginians in 654 B.C. The heritage of this magical and blessed by God island was completed by the Romans, Arabs and Catalans. The pirates ruled over Ibiza and added to the island architectural history the walls and defense towers surrounding it. Since then, mysterious treasures and secrets await to be discovered.

The island charm is a source of inspiration for artists and is well- known the fact that distinguished painters and poets come here to be inspired by its beauty. Its coast and beaches are easy reachable by car or bus. For heavenly scenery, you can make a journey by ferry, around the island.
Whether you choose to spend an adventurous holiday with your friends, a romantic honeymoon with the one you love or memorable moments with your family, Ibiza has it all for everybody.

There are many places to visit on Ibiza. The island tour, from Ibiza to Santa Eulalia and from San Antonio to San Rafael can be made in two hours by using the holiday train. One can also visit the famous hippy clubs and squares and experience the flavour of San Carlos traditionally food. The adventurous tourists who love nature will be enchanted by the beauty of Las Salinas lake, where they will witnesses a spectacular sunset. Moreover, you will adore the unique landscape of the mysterious Es Vedra island situated near by Ibiza.
Ibiza has 34 remarkable beaches where “fun” and “recreation” are fundamental beliefs. The most visited by tourists are: Talamanca, Figueretas, Playa d’en Bossa, Las Slinas, Cala Conta.
Accommodation should not be a problem on the island. One can choose from a large variety of hotels, most of them alluring their possible guests with incredible holiday offers.
The Spanish Island is well-known for its intense night life. There are plenty of night clubs, pubs and restaurants for all ages and tastes that tempt tourists with parties like nowhere else in the world. Restaurants can be found everywhere, even on the beach.

When to visit: The land of fun and recreation opens its gates in May and closes them in October. During summer time the resorts are overcrowded. Therefore if you want to spend your vacation in Ibiza, your booking must be made at least two months ahead the departure settled date. Also, the prices tend to rise deliriously in full season period.

Getting around: There is a large variety of means of transport to choose from if you want to visit the island. One can go by bus or taxi from one town to another. However, many tourists prefer to travel by using the holiday train, which offers a longer, but in the same time more enjoyable journey. The ferry is a very good choice for those who want to admire the island from the sea.
From another point of view, one can do the island tour by car. There are many places from which you can hire a car and spend a day traveling around the island. Bikes and scooters represent also a good alternative for those who love exercise and nature.

Flights to Ibiza: One can travel by plane from London to Ibiza through British Airways. Beginning with May 2011, the company offers tickets starting from 66 £ for the economy class. The taxes and other fees for a one way ticket reach to 37, 70 £. In the summer time period, the company operates flights on a daily basis, starting from 7:00 am.
However, in autumn, the prices are lower, as there are fewer tourists flying to Ibiza in this period of the year. Moreover, starting from October, flights to the island are not operated every day. The price for a ticket in the economy class starts from 75£, taxes not included.

An interesting choice for the more adventurous and romantic tourists is the Eurostar train. One can reach Ibiza in no time by visiting also Paris, Madrid or Barcelona and Valencia. The ones who wish to spend a lovely day crossing through these magnificent locations must follow few simple paces: they have to take the Eurostar train from London to Paris (which is a 2 hours and 20 minutes journey), then take the Elipsos trainhotel from Paris to Barcelona or Madrid which will reach Valencia in a few hours. From Valencia, it only expects you a wonderful ferry journey to Ibiza.

The Eurostar train leaves from London, St Pancras at 15:02(15:32 at weekends) and arrives in Paris, Gare du Nord at 18:17(18:47 at weekends). From Paris you must take “Joan Miro” trainhotel leaving from Paris at 20:34 and arriving the following morning at Barcelona Franca ( 08: 24).
The tickets start at 69 £ from London to Paris and then 67 £ eachway for the trainhotel from Paris to Barcelona or Madrid.

However, what is even more alluring about the train trip is that you get to spend a wonderful day in Barcelona, before taking the overnight ship to Ibiza. The overnight ships sail almost every night, at 20: 30 or 23: 30, arriving at 06: 30 or 08: 30.
The easiest way to buy tickets for such an interesting journey is by using the internet. You can book the rail journey – including the Eurostar and the trainhotel- online or by phone. Tickets for the ferry can be booked online at www.transmediteranea.es .

Travelling by train is both convenient and fun. Unlike a plane trip, you can keep your luggage next to you all the time and not worry about losing any of your things. Moreover, tourists do not have to pay any fee for their luggage. During the journey you can always have a meal or a drink, (which is free at First class).
Children will love the idea of sleeping in a comfortable couchette, of seeing interesting sceneries during the journey and spending time with the ones they care about. What’s more, kids under 4 travel free.

So, why not choose a more complex journey, which is both relaxing and enjoyable, instead of a short and sometimes too expensive one?
